Absolutely LOVE this stand!I needed a better POS monitor stand for one of the screens in my food truck and this works perfectly! In the pictures is a 15″ Toast monitor, a 17″ looks like it would fit in landscape orientation, definitely would not work in portrait though. It’s very sturdy, heavy duty, designed very well and won’t tip over easily in normal use. There’s literally zero assembly, the thumbscrews are permanently attached (no more losing them!) and have some spring tension to keep them in place. There’s also a thin rubber cushion on the mounting bracket that helps keep the bracket and monitor firmly together. It folds down really flat if needed to save space or to lower the center of gravity. I’ll definitely use that during transport so it doesn’t fall over while driving.A few of things to keep in mind:1) The base arm is able to swivel on the base so you can rotate the monitor 360°, the pivot at the monitor mounting bracket allows tilt so you can adjust the viewing angle -HOWEVER- the mounting bracket pivot DOES NOT spin to allow changing between portrait and landscape mode, you would have to remove the screws and reorient the monitor to change between portrait and landscape.2) This stand is intended for monitors with VESA mounting holes (the smaller VESA pattern) and will not work with a tablet or screen that doesn’t already have screw holes.3) Height adjustment – There is a very small amount of height adjustment that you can play with, but the pivot arms aren’t telescoping for any real height gains4) This is intended to be a portable free-standing unit – There aren’t any holes in the base to mount it to a corner, however, you could always drill a couple of holes if you needed a more permanent or secure mount.
