The box was a little ripped when it arrived, but the kettle inside was fine. It was packed up pretty well in there.I used it this morning for my pour-over. It was nice to be able to heat the water to a specific temperature. There’s a button for coffee that sets the temp to 198 degrees F automatically. You can also set it to a custom temp using the up and down arrows, which is what I did today. I set it to 200. I think tomorrow I’ll try the 198 pre-set for comparison. There’s also a boil setting that heats it to 212 F if you double-press the power button. It took about 6 minutes to boil a full kettle of water filled to the max line. The gooseneck design is perfect for pour-over coffee. It’s reassuring that it has an auto shut-off safety feature since I can be kind of absent-minded sometimes. One complaint I have is that the cover doesn’t lock into place. Because of the gooseneck design, it’s mostly ok because you don’t have to tilt it too much for pouring. But if you’re trying to tilt it far over to get the last drop out, you do have to be aware not to let the cover fall off.Overall, I’m pretty happy with this electric kettle. It’s fun to get all scientific and fancy with my morning coffee.
