A some point with no fanfare or simple announcement, the fuel filler neck on my 2018 Chevy Silverado broke free from the fender. I didn’t notice that was even a thing until it was. After letting it go for many months (no idea really how long), I decided to research what kind of screw was missing to fix it. To my surprise it was not a screw but this kid of plastic body pin.Getting the hole in the filler neck to line up with the fender hole while trying to insert this very tight fitting pin fully into the hole with only two hands was a challenge. Be patient and you’ll get it. Pressing the center of the pin down to lock it in place required a small hammer. It’s in there tight now! There is a good reason why the original pin was missing and the replacement product comes with TWO PINS. The whole setup is not very well engineered. Don’t blame this product – that’s the genius of Chevrolet engineering! Keeping the spare handy in anticipation of needing it at some point in the future. I appreciate the company sending a backup pin.Recommended.
