I have a 2001 Kawasaki Lakota 300, the original CDI boxed died, I could start the engine, it would idle fine, but as soon as I tried to rev the engine it would instantly die. I put this one in, fired right up and revved full blast. It’s definitely working. Kawasaki wants over 200 for a new OEM one, I wasn’t going to spend that much. How long this will last is beyond me, but it gets the job done. Also, if you are replacing this, I suggest replacing the voltage regulator too, that is what fries these units. Trying to run your ATV with a dead battery will fry your voltage regulator too, since it’s trying to draw too much amperage.
