I used this in an unconventional way. I bought a rack for my Jeep that was 1-3/4 OD. I needed rollers to put my boat on top but didn’t want to raise the height another 6 inches. So I bought heavy duty 2″ black PVC to put over the rack front and back pieces. Before assembling I used this 3″ tape to go around the rack tubes on each end of where the PVC pipe would end. Went around 8 times, changing each pieces length so that it didn’t overlap creating a high spot. The PVC pipe slid on and rotates when I put my boat on. Works perfectly and their is no slop for the pipe to flop around when the boat is not up there.
